Current Volunteer Teams
Central Church of God (CCOG) in Charlotte has provided faithful volunteers for many years. CCOG has volunteer groups that minister on various nights throughout the week. They hold Bible studies for both male and female inmates. Members of their volunteer groups assist with our Life Skills Program as well as in other areas in the Union County Jail. http://www.centralnc.org/
Changed Choices is a non-profit organization that helps women while they are incarcerated and when they are released from jail or prison. We have a great group of volunteers from this organization who have Bible studies and prayer with female inmates in the Union County Jail on Tuesday afternoons. http://www.changedchoices.org/home.html
Volunteers from Mom’s in Prayer come on Wednesday mornings and have Bible studies with female inmates in the Union County Jail who have children. They spend time teaching the women to pray for their children. Many times, inmates who don’t have children join in as well. https://momsinprayer.org/
Eagles Fellowships were initiated in 1989 to disciple inmates in the ways of God. These Fellowships give inmates the opportunity to meet weekly with fellow-inmates and volunteers for open, honest discussions of spiritual topics in order to encourage their on-going, positive life-change. Eagles Fellowship volunteers minister in the Union County Jail on Thursday nights.
We are blessed to have other volunteer groups, from a large variety of churches, who minister to the inmates in the Union County Jail on a weekly or monthly basis.
